Healthy and tasty Vazhaipoo thoran with grated coconut.

Banana flower / vazhapoo thoran is a traditional dish of south India.In our home we used to make this fry once in a week. It is a very healthy and crunchy side dish for rice. We can make this fry in many ways.

1 no of Vazhaipoo/banana flower
1 cup of Grated Coconut
1/2 no of chopped onion
2 no of garlic
4 no of Green chilli
Salt to taste
To season
1/2 spn. of Mustard seeds
3 springs of Curry leaves
1 spn. of Oil


Step 01

Clean and finely chop vazhappoo.

Step 02

Crush grated coconut with onion,garlic and green chilli.

Step 03

Mix vazhapoo with crushed coconut mix and salt with hands.Keep aside for 5 minutes.

Step 04

Heat oil in a pan.

Step 05

Splutter mustard seeds.

Step 06

Add vazhappoo mix and stir well.

Step 07

Cover lid of the pan and cook for 5 min in low flame.
