A traditional sweet dish prepared for Tamil Harvest Festival
Paal pongal or rice and milk meal is a yummy and easy to make sweet prepared on the day of pongal. There are lot many varieties in pongal like kara pongal,sakkara pongal etc… I have posted Healthy brown rice pongal recipe. Paal pongal is so easy to make and delicious dish. 200g of Rice
1/2 ltr of Milk
100g of Sugar
3 tbps. of Grated coconut
1spn. of Cardamom powder
1/2 spn. of Ghee
1 cup of Water
Paal Pongal Preparation Method
Pressure cook rice,1 cup of milk,1 cup of water(3 whistle in medium flame).
When rice get cooked add remaining milk,sugar,cardamom powder and mash well.Boil for 2 more minute. Add a pinch of salt.
Roast cashew nuts in ghee and add into the pongal mix along with ghee. Add grated coconut and mix well.
Switch off the flame.serve hot or chilled.
