Crispy juicy fry with Prawn heads.


Dish with prawn heads may be a surprising recipe to some of you.Because I came to know about this recipe after my marriage. I tasted this recipe from husband’s aunts home. I never forget that crispy juicy prawn heads fry I had on that day. Even though it will take some time to prepare this recipe,the taste is heavenly. We need to deep fry the marinated prawn heads and make masala. We can also use deep fried prawn heads itself as a side dish. I have already tried some delicious prawns recipes like Chinese Style Prawns fry ,Dried prawns curry (Konchum Manga),Prawn masala,Dried Prawns chutney powder (chemmeen podi),Pepper prawns,Prawns head fry. Ingredients

250g of prawn heads
1 no of onion
2 no of green chillies
2 springs of curry leaves
1 spn. of chilli powder(kashimiri chilli powder preferred)
1/4 spn. of turmeric powder
1/6 spn. of garam masala
1/6 spn. of coriander powder
1 spn. of coriander leaves
Oil for fry

Fried Prawn Heads Preparation Method

Step 01


Marinate cleaned prawn heads with half of chilli powder,half of turmeric powder and salt.Keep aside for 15 minutes

Step 02


Deep fry prawn heads till crispy consistency and keep aside.

Step 03


Heat oil in a pan.

Step 04


Add sliced onion,green chillies and curry leaves.Saute till onions become translucent(around 2-3 minutes).

Step 05


Add chilli powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder and garam masala.

Step 06


Saute for a while and add fried prawn heads.

Step 07


Mix well and slow cook for 1-2 minutes.

Step 08


Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
