Aloo palak curry | potato palak curry | side dish for chapathi/roti

Easy to make healthy side dish

Aloo palak curry is an easy to make side dish for chapathi. Palak and aloo is a very healthy and tasty combination. I like non spcy curries for chapathi/roti. I have already tried some non spicy healthy side dish recipes like Green gram kuruma (Cherupayar i-matar-malai/” target=”_blank”>Methi matar malai and Multi Dal gravy. 2 no of Potato
2 cup of chopped palak
2-3 no of green chillies
1 no of onion
1/2 spn. of mustard seeds
1 spn. of cumin seeds(jeera)
1/4 spn. of turmeric powder
1/4 spn. of chill powder(optional)
1 spn. of oil
2-3 no of red chillies

Aloo palak curry Preparation Steps

Step 01

Clean and wash potato. Cut in to cube shape.

Step 02

Add salt and 1 cup of water. Pressure cook in medium flame for 5-6 whistle. Once it is done, mash well with a ladle.

Step 03

Heat oil in a pan

Step 04

Splutter cumin seeds.

Step 05

Add red chillies,sliced green chillies and chopped onion. Saute for a while.

Step 06

Add turmeric powder,chilli powder(optional) and fry for 1/2 minute. Add chopped spinach and fry for 2-3 minutes. Add mashed potatoes and mix well.

Step 07

Check salt and add water if the gravy is too thick. Cover lid and cook for 2 minutes in low flame.

Step 08

Serve hot with chapathi
